How to use the Resource
The 2001 census reported that the United Kingdom minority ethnic population stands at 4.6 million, this is 8.6% of the total population and an increase of 53% on 1991 figures. The aim of this website is to offer help support and guidance to all those involved with women from ethnic minorities. Women from ethnic minorities, and groups of women who have less favourable outcomes and experiences of maternity services. This website will provide evidence based care and examples of good practice with the hope that these can be used to improve care for women and reduce variations in clinical practice.

in this website are appropriate links to direct you to websites for
further and more detailed information. The guide also acts as an
information resource for continuing professional education.
